✔️ They are driving an official MAS vehicle with government tags
✔️ They are in official MAS uniform
✔️ They have a badge, city ID, radio, and safety gear.
If you question any officer’s legitimacy, you can always call 545-COPS to confirm the officer’s identity via their badge number.
We appreciated Mayor Strickland stopping by last night to talk about where Memphis has been and where we’re going. Good news about crime (down slightly), economic growth (up) and potholes (everywhere). There was a good Q&A session and the Mayor answered the questions candidly and honestly.
Great things are happening in Memphis and we’re glad to be a part.

(February 20, 2019) – The Memphis City Council approved an increase in water rates Tuesday night. The increase takes effect March 2019 and will be in place through February next year.
MLGW customers will see their water bills increase an average of 45 cents per month. The measure will raise roughly $2.5 million and help cover a projected 2019 deficit in the utility’s water division.
The council rejected proposals to raise MLGW rates that would have helped fund a five-year plan to overhaul the utility’s aging infrastructure. The MLGW Board of Commissioners met today and ratified the council-approved increase in water rates.
Memphis Light, Gas and Water has received reports of two types of scam phone calls to customers.
One customer reports a scammer telling them to dial an 800 number to make payment or they would be disconnected. Upon calling the toll-free number, the customer got an automated message stating they had reached MLGW. Another MLGW customer reports a caller instructing her to go to a dollar store, add money to a debit card and call back for more instructions. While MLGW mails cut-off notices to customers and uses auto-dialers alerting them that payment must be made by a certain date to avoid cutoff,
MLGW service representatives do not personally call customers to request payment.
If you get such a call, you are urged to do the following:
• Hang up the phone. • Never give out personal financial information over the phone. • Call the MLGW Customer Care Center at 901-544-6549 if you have any concerns. • Report it to your local police station if you have been scammed. • Go to any of the five MLGW community business offices and speak with a credit counselor if you have problems paying your utility bill.
The Shelby County Trustee’s Office has released a list of convenient locations for property owners to pay their current and/or delinquent county property taxes. Additional seasonal payment centers will be located around the county February 19th through 28th.
“During the last days of February, the Trustee’s Office stays extremely busy helping taxpayers get their payments in before the deadline. We want to make it easier by having staff at our mobile locations to assist customers.”

In addition to year-round satellite locations at Millington City Hall and Arlington Town Hall, there are seasonal offices at Germantown City Hall, Bartlett City Hall, Collierville Town Hall and Regions Bank in Whitehaven.
