Pet Fostering 101

Have you been curious about fostering, but don’t know where to start? Join us for Fostering 101, an informative session on what it means to be a foster parent to a homeless dog, puppy, cat or kitten in Memphis.

From basic information to specific opportunities available both at Memphis Animal Services and with our rescue partners – this no obligation session will get you started in exploring the ways you can help us save lives by temporarily opening your home to a foster pet (or pets)!

Have a question about fostering you’d like answered? Let us know!

Helping Hands + Helping Paws Volunteer & Support Fair

Join us for the 2nd Annual Helping Hands + Helping Paws Volunteer & Support Fair, an event bringing together volunteers, fosters, and donors for animal rescue groups in Memphis!

Come out and visit with numerous animal support groups, who will each give a two-minute presentation on what they do and what they need. You can learn all the different ways you can help animals locally, whether that be through volunteering, fostering, adopting, donating, or other ways! Let’s all band together to help the animals!

This event is in collaboration with the Memphis Public Libraries and takes place at the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library on Tuesday, February 26, from 7-9 p.m.

Adult Dog Foster Pilot Program

Do you love dogs? Do you want to play a major role in implementing an exciting new program at Memphis Animal Services?

Join our Pilot Dog Foster Program we launched this week!

During the pilot portion of the program (taking place in November and December), five dogs will be available for foster each week. Foster parents must complete a short foster application/interview, and must be willing to play an active role in marketing their foster dogs for adoption and helping foster coordinators collect data for the pilot program.

Foster dogs will be available for adoption locally in the Memphis Area.

If you’re interested in fostering a featured dog for 4-6 weeks or until adoption (whichever comes first!), email MAS@memphistn.gov or come by Memphis Animal Services this Friday or Saturday from 12-4pm to learn more and meet the dogs!

Meet one of our first Pilot Dogs pictured here: Little Dipper #A308425, who is a 2-year-old female!
