HELP PROTECT YOURSELF AGAINST BURGLARIES

More than 62% of home burglaries took place between 6 am and 6 pm.

Six out of 10 people are being robbed while they’re at work.

84% of burglaries are breaking and entering, not just stealing lawn furniture and maintenance equipment. After getting on the property their next attempt is to get inside.

Some helpful suggestions:

  • Trim shrubs and trees that could provide cover for a prowler.
  • Install motion lights in darker areas of yard.
  • Install timers for inside lights when away from home.
  • Discontinue newspaper delivery if vacationing or traveling.
  • Install a good security system, with a non-specific sign in your yard. Example “This property protected by monitored alarm system”.
